Orelia Keiheuvel may sound like a coquettish main character from a romantic novel, were it not for the fact that it is a residential care centre in Balen. This new construction project is situated in the Keiheuvel nature reserve – a good 540 hectares – and the characteristic tranquillity of this green lung also provides sufficient oxygen inside.
The residential care centre occupies a new building with 49 rooms for the care centre itself, ten rooms for short stay and eight assisted living residences. It also serves as a social venue for the neighbourhood, with the modern cafeteria as its epicentre. Here, nature was the inspiration for the custom furnishings that include a range of wood touches and light colours.
